Trans women will never be free until people stop having strong emotions about penises. Like we, as a society, have got to stop caring about dicks! Dicks have to stop symbolizing maleness, obviously, but they also have to stop symbolizing power, dominance, sexual agency and aggression, violence, and even sex itself. Like trans women can’t be free if the very conceptual presence of a penis represents an intrusion(!) of unwanted(!) sexuality(!) in public life. Like that’s why trans women are abhorrent to both male chauvinists and radical feminists, because both groups have extremely strong feelings about what a penis *represents*, and find the conceptual and actual presence of a woman with a penis to be simultaneously vile and nonsensical because they’ve loaded so much symbolic baggage onto both women and penises.

Anyway dicks are totally neutral body parts and seeing a dick, or a bulge in a swimsuit, or simply knowing that there’s a dick somewhere in the same bathroom as you isn’t harmful or violent

list of mundane things that feel like ancient human rituals

  • cleaning or wipe your bare feet
  • breaking off a piece of bread and handing it to someone
  • putting the weight of a basket on your hip or head
  • eating nuts or berries while hunched over close to the ground
  • seeing something startling just out of your line of sight and very quickly stepping or leaping on to a larger object to get a better view
  • cupping your hands into running water to wash your face
  • the unanimous protection of a baby or child in a public space where women are present
  • when an elderly woman laughs and grips your forearm tightly

May I add?

  • Touching someone’s face with the back of your hand to see if they have a fever
  • Stopping to watch animals moving in groups (geese, fish, horses, butterflies, bees)
  • Helping an elderly person to walk or sit
  • telling stories around a fire
  • huddling together for warmth when it’s cold
  • marveling at sunlight through leaves
  • wonderment at the brightness of a full moon
  • bringing food to sick or grieving families

*“smell this”
*“taste this”
*“ooo, this is [texture], touch it”
*look at this"

okay but saying “i wish i had known you sooner” — like the love in my heart is growing so big and fast for you that i wish i had the opportunity to have you way earlier by my side, because i want to love you longer than i can do now. my love for you reaches my past and makes a place for you.

best thing i ever accepted about people is that most people are just kind of gross like, physically

like most people have gross little bad habits and let the laundry go a little too long and sweat in weird places and are messy eaters and have weird laughs and are a little greasy and asymettrical and have stains and tears and wear on the things they own and its like literally fine and human. we dont need to worry about that stuff and frankly we should kill whoever is responsible for making us think humans are even capable of being perfectly polished made up hygeine machines 24/7. we are little animals we came from the dirt and sometimes you scratch your buttcrack or pick at scabs or what the fuck ever it is literally normal animal behaviour !!! let the soft animal of your body ect ect nd sometimes the soft animal of your body is a little yucky.

I’ve rarely seen a more validating sentence in my entire life.

i imagine it would be like that gif of the woman stumbling horrified through the city and keeps seeing things that remind her of gay people but with trans folks

So as an Antarctic expert I need to add to this that we had not in fact been to Antarctica when it was named. The ancient Greeks decided that because there was an Arctic at the top of the world, with bears, there had to be an opposite at the other end, without bears. Which is kind of ridiculous except that the fuckers were dead on

there r so many emojis i always stumble across something like 🗜 and i think who the HELL would ever use this emoji. and then i think abt some guy who probably works w those things all the time n hes so happy he can use this emoji. and im happy for him

My dad has started using them regularly in conversations to make the underrepresented emojis feel included, which is very cute in theory, but it means I get texts like:

Literally every movie adaptation ever: Henry Jeckyll is just a poor victim of his evil side Mr Hyde!

The Actual Book: Henry Jeckyll is a weird fuck who turned himself into a monster man because he wanted to indulge in doing horrible things without fear of getting caught

Add the phantom of the Opera !
